Acid Reflux PregnancyIt has been determined that as much as eighty percent of women that are pregnant will experience acid reflux, heartburn or GERD. The symptoms can range from a mild pain to a very severe agonizing sensation. Regurgitation and nausea is ordinary in the first trimester and is primarily because of the increasing levels of the progesterone, estrogen and female hormones circulating in the blood stream. Acid reflux symptoms are more common in the third trimester.
During the third trimester, the uterus is sizeable and has pressed into the upper abdomen disfiguring the relationship of the organs in the abdomen. The stomach is also pushed up against the diaphragm. The vast majority of women that experience heartburn during their pregnancy will have a burning sensation in the chest and/or throat and a sour acid taste in the mouth. When trying to find a remedy for acid reflux, heartburn and GERD during in pregnancy these women cannot or should not take many of the drugs that are usually recommended for acid reflux treatment under normal conditions. Therefore it is even more important for them to adjust there diet to ensure they are only consuming foods that do not cause acid reflux, but have the exact opposite affect and provide relief and comfort from the pain caused by this condition. The best advice I have heard on this condition, it not to get discouraged. It will soon pass when the pregnancy is over. However, there are steps you can take to relieve the pain now. First, you should adjust your daily meals so that they conform to the "Acid Reflux Diet". Second, since you should not take any drugs at all during this time that could damage the baby there is an excellent alternative. This is a dietary supplement that is all-natural, does not have any side affects and works just as good as most medications and antacids at providing instant relief to anybody that suffers from acid reflux, heartburn and GERD.
